Full Moon 16 degrees 21 minutes in Cancer, 7.1.2023 9.07 am AEST
Welcome precious readers to the first Full Moon of the Year. Happy New Year. Thank you for reading these articles, I value it very much. I hope that you are well and content in your lives.
Happy Birthday Capricorn. May your day be spent doing what you love. Possibly allowing time out from your hard-working schedule and taking nurturing time for yourself.
Ladies and gents, we have a Full Moon in Cancer. Any Full Moon signifies a culmination of a build up of energies that are within the signs of the Full Moon. These are inherent within the contrasting signs of the Sun and Moon. Then there is a release of pressure and a letting go, in order to feel a sense of relief. This time we have the Sun in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer.
What could this mean? These two (Cancer/Capricorn) energies always oppose each other.
The Moon rules the sign of Cancer and are both emotional and both feminine, water signs bringing forth emotional feelings. They hold and move our own internal body of water similarly, as the Moon moves the tides of the ocean.
This is a very potent and powerful energy. After all, our body is made-up mainly of water. The tides of the Oceans change every day, ebbing and flowing similarly affecting the mood of the psychic and emotional body and mind.
Sensitive individuals wake up feeling the different signs of the Moon being signifyied by the changed mood being reflected by the emotions that we feel.
We are likely to feel stable when the Moon is in an earth sign. We could be fiery when the Moon moves into a fire sign. Similarly, we could be in our thoughts when the Moon moves into the mind sign of Mercury.
When the Moon is in the sign of cancer, we can be emotional, as this sign is ruled by the Moon and is deeply emotional. We could also feel soft, nurturing, yearning to receive or give a hug. We could be wanting to nest or desiring to be close to our earthly mother. We may need to yearn to be cared about, looking for our sense of belonging and our home within and wish to be in the company of other individuals.
This is very primal and deeply emotional. It may be time to become our own mother by asking the self what one needs and giving ourself the care that we possibly, did not receive, as a baby or a small child.
We could feel scared and hurt if we didn’t receive the basic nurturing from our mothers. Our sense of safety and security could feel damaged due to not receiving enough care and comfort from one’s mother. Further, if our emotions were squashed and unable to be freely expressed, speaking metaphorically, then we may feel like hiding in our crab shell possibly for eternity never coming out, as we may feel that the world and people are too scary.
The Sun is in the sign of Capricorn. This sign is grounded, practical, earthy, resourceful and has a sense of duty and responsibility. We may be committed to our work ethic of a sense of responsibility, as it could be the only thing keeping us afloat, hoping in return that one is receiving love from others. Capricorn loves to achieve and cares about its reputation. That could be so, if we are unable to feel being cut off from our emotions.
Possibly, too much responsibility was forced upon us by our mother’, early in life. In which case later in life one could unconsciously yearn for family contact and nurturing unable to experience any sort of separation from them.
The Moon in Cancer is inherently sensitive and intuitive. It can sense and feel their surroundings. This is great, as we can only connect to our truth though our sensitivities and emotions, involving spirit and our guides that love us unconditionally. The Cancer Moon thrives on our connection to the Higher Mothers, like Mother Theresa and Mother Mary.
The sign of Cancer rules our breasts, our stomach and our reproductive organs. Notice how these essential parts of your body are behaving. Then, possibly ask your Higher Mother for assistance? Our female bodies house and grow a new human. This is a very sacred and revered practice of The Goddess to bringing forth new life in birthing of a baby.
The Goddess and The Mother were honoured in ancient times by the masses for her ability to create life. Being a mother in my view is such a wonderful privilege growing a child within. Men cannot physically do this. Yet women are often kind and humble in their rule next to men, as they bring in a softness, tenderness, and psychic abilities using their intuition. We do not have to be in a female body to house feminine qualities, many men have these sensitivities.
Retrograde Planet Mercury is conjunct the Sun both being in the sign of Capricorn at this Full Moon in Cancer. I love retrograde planets, as their meaning to me is that they are allowing more retrospection than at other times when travelling direct.
This is good news for Mercury, as this planet rules the intellectual mind and thinking. Knowing that everything is powered by our thought, we could examine if they are nurturing thoughts. When examined, it may be realised that these thoughts are by products of our conditioning. We cannot make them wrong. We can step away to really examine the mind. Now is the time (Saturn ruling Capricorn) to question our thoughts for validity.
The sign of Cancer is one of the four cardinal signs of the zodiac. These signs basically need to take action after they sense an impulse that excites their being. Then once following through on that impulse one usually feels fear. The fear dissipates like magic once the action is taken. We need to be ready to take that action, as it is all in the timing, which is ruled by the sign of Capricorn and planet Saturn.
Those people that have the four Cardinal signs of Cancer/Capricorn and Aries/Libra, anywhere from 13 degrees to 19 degrees in their birth charts will be affected by this Full Moon in Cancer energy, more than others.
If you can please print your birth chart and physically place this Full Moon in the sign of Cancer into your birth charts, then it will help you see which house it activates and, if it sits on any points or angles (especially the Ascendant/Descendant and Midheaven/Imum Coeli/Lower Heaven) in your chart and/or if it makes any significant aspects.
As always, it is my experience that we can miss things if we simply look at our charts without actually placing the sign and the degrees of the Moon placement on a printed copy of our charts. I hope that this serves you.
